On thursday I went to the Dance concert. It was alright. I liked the colors of their outfits. Their dances were ok. But The outfits definitely made up for it. In the first picture I liked that I was able to capture that all of them were moving the same way. In the second one I liked that you can see how flexible the dancer is. it's amazing how far they can stretch and jump and spin. It's definitely a form or art. I think dancing is kind of beautiful. And in last picture was a really fun dance. it was happy and colorful.

In third quarter we did a commercial photo shoot. Basically to learn how to use photoshop in an advertising aspect. It was actually really simple. I used dream catchers. I really like dream catchers, for personal reasons. I used the lighting kit for this. The first picture, was a smaller dreamcatcher that my friend got for me. I originally was going to include the entire dream catcher because it had feathers but I kind of liked it up close better. The second picture, is of my friend ashley and a dreamcatcher that my friend alexis made for me. The idea of a dreamcatcher is that when you have a bad dream it goes through the middle and the dreamcatcher catches your dream and keeps it from disturbing you any longer. So the fact that she is behind is is basically like saying that the dreamcatcher being in front of her is protecting her from the harm of a bad dream.

For one of my theme shoots, I used this rose that my best friend got me for Valentine's day. I decided to make my final pictures black and white since the rose itself was white. I was playing around with the different filters in photoshop and in the first picture it was a high contrast blur filter. I really like the dark and almost scary look of the photo. I really like the way it turned out. In the second picture I used a softer filter. And I brought out the details of the rose.

January
For my Mum's birthday, I did a photo shoot for her. Not only in the studio, but also outside. I really liked how the majority of the pictures came out but these are some of my favorites. I think she has a really nice facial structure making modeling relatively easy for her. I like the shape of her nose and cheekbones. In the last picture, I was imitating a photo shoot that I did in October that consisted of only the eyes. I used that for my color splash. And I wish that I would have used her eyes for that as well, because the color of her eyes are so unique.
